Slot Machine Companies
The slot machine business is currently dominated by a half dozen large companies. They make most of the games that you play in casinos across the US. All of these large companies sell their games in two ways.
- Sold Games – These companies sell the machine with individual games, and they rent the machine with a premium slot machine game. An example of the selling a game would IGT selling a single slot machine with the game Cleopatra. It would typically cost around 10,000 for a new game like that.
- Rented Games – A different kind of game with a premium theme is for example Wheel of Fortune. That is provided to the casino on a rental basis. They charge the casino a portion of the money that gets bet on the machine. Often these games are the games that have large jackpots in the range of $500,000 to millions of dollars. The rental fee is often between 30% and 15% of the money that is gambled on the machine.
